Hello everyone I know,

I'm in the ArtHouse Co-op Sketchbook show, "Everybody We Know" and I'm inviting you to come out and enjoy a great night of art. I've participated in a show with this gallery before and it was really cool to see all the sketchbooks in all their varieties. This is a traveling show, unfortunately I won't be traveling too, but that mean if it's coming to your city you can check out my art. Listed below are the exhibition dates and locations (these are one night only shows, so once it's gone it's gone). The opening/kick off of the tour is this Friday, Feb. 27 from 7-10pm at ArtHouse Gallery in the Castleberry Hill area in Atlanta. If you'd like a sneak peak you can check out my book here or here.

Thanks for your support and I hope to see you there.
Hugs Angie

p.s. Tell all your friends!!

We successfully completed my first live show last night.
I say "we" because my guest James Hargett held the show while I was otherwise distracted.

Why distracted you say? Well my producer, who is also my father, neglected to tell me until we got there that not only would there be call-ins, but there would be live chat going on while I was talking to James. So what you see is me distracted while I am reading this computer screen and trying to let other people in on the conversation.

All in all, it was a good show and James was a charming guest. I almost wish we had more time to delve into his brain, but the show is only 30min. Plus the way I was looking, I was almost relieved when it was over ;) Once bitten. I know how to do it next time (May include martinis).

I can't wait for the next show!

Regency Art Center, the place I have been with for years now, called me today and wants to have me on their website as one of their artists they feature for commerical trade.

Regency is open to the trade only, so I am always looking for some gig that will expand my art to all audiences. Well, it seems as though, this new service will offer glicees and commissions of my art if the original is purchased. They are bringing me commissions! and offering to make glicees of my work- at no expense to me!
*squee!*

Anyhow this is very good news to start the New Year.
2009 just may turn out to be stellar!

I hope everyone is having a good year so far.
2009 seems to be promising and I am looking forward to making it as artistically sucessful as possible.

Here is my new painting of the New Year. It was a present to my father and his wife on Christmas actually, but  it is the first after a very long hiatus.

It is called "The Pillars"

In other good news, I will be hosting an online artshow called "Behind The Canvas." It will be a weekly show featuring local artists, collectors, gallery owners etc . . . I will keep you posted on when we will start airing and on what day,but in the meantime if you wish to be on the show, email me your contact information and I will get back to you about the line-up.

I also have a new website called Keisha Shipp Contemporary Art. You can check it out at keishashipp.net

I hope everyone is doing well and I will keep you posted on good things.

Happy New Year!

I made this for the 4th of July art party at Doogallery. I used myself, cause I didn't have any other subjects about to get the point across. This is the second stencil I have made. What you can't see is the fine words scratched on the chest:

Irish
French-Creole
Cherokee

Precognitive Dream

This was a collaborative piece between James Hargett and myself. It was a sheet of tin from the tornado rubble and James built a wood frame for it to rest on. It sold :)

Valentine

This is the other piece that James did for the fundraiser. It was done on two big planks of waterlogged and distressed wood. It sold too :)

 Expose Yourself

Spirits In Motion is proud to present “Naked,” a contemporary art show by local artist Keisha Shipp.

The show is a celebration of human emotion, represented by the contemporary human form, in oil and

multi-media paintings.

This is the first solo show by the artist, who has actively participated in Atlanta art festivals,

community fundraisers and group shows for almost a decade. Her art has been featured in small cafes in

downtown atlanta to fine dining establishements in Buckhead.

“Keisha’s paintings were well recieved in the resturant by both the staff and patrons,” says

Arnaud Michel owner of Anis restuarant in Buckhead. “It is always a pleasure to have them on

the walls. I wish her much success with the show.”

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Spirtis In Motion will donate a portion of the

profits to The American Cancer Society to fight breast cancer. Donation forms will also be available at

the show for those wanting to give directly to the ACS.

The show will be held Friday, October 20th, 2006 from 5-9pm. at The House Nightclub in Underground

Atlanta 94 Upper Pryor Street SW, Atlanta 30303. For more details call 678.358.7485.
